We’re be with you every step of the way to ensure you receive the compassionate, professional care you deserve. Our office uses the latest technology that ensures every treatment plan is completely customized for each individual patient, and we work hard to ensure that care is as safe and gentle as possible.
Every smile starts with an initial consultation!
Your first visit is one of the most important you’ll have at an orthodontic office. It gives you and your family the chance to meet the team and learn more about the practice and their treatment philosophy. Choosing an orthodontic home is a big decision, and our staff works hard to ensure that from the initial appointment on, you have the information you need to be an active partner in your, or your child’s, treatment.
At the initial consultation, you’ll receive a complete exam so that our team can determine which treatment options might best meet your needs. At this appointment we will:
- Look over dental and medical records
- Take X-rays, photos and complete an oral exam to determine if you require treatment at this time
- Create a treatment plan just for you
- Talk about financial information, including insurance options and payment plans
Another important part of this first consultation is the question and answer time. Our team will gladly take as much time as you need to ensure you are completely informed, with everything you need to make the right decision about your treatment.

What happens after the initial consultation?
After your initial consultation, you’re one step closer to achieving the smile you’ve always wanted! When you have made your decision about treatment, we’ll schedule your first appointment and Dr. Stansbury or Dr. Nelson will place your new orthodontic appliance at that time. This appointment generally takes about an hour.
Maintaining check-ups with your orthodontist is an important part of your orthodontic treatment. Depending on the treatment you choose, you’ll visit our office every four to eight weeks so we can make any adjustments that are needed. We know our patients have busy lives, so we work hard to schedule your appointments when it is convenient for you.
We know that sometimes, life happens. If you need to reschedule an appointment or if you are just running a bit late, we’ll do all we can to help you.
If you’re ready for treatment to begin, contact our practice and our friendly scheduling coordinator will assist you. We’re looking forward to working with you.
Visiting the dentist during orthodontic treatment
Orthodontic treatment requires healthy teeth and gums, so it is important that you continue to visit your family dentist every six months throughout your treatment. If a dental problem arises during your treatment, we will work with your dentist to ensure you receive the care you need.
